Nuclear Careers
Why Nuclear?
It is widely acknowledged that meeting the demands of modern energy consumption can only realistically be met through Nuclear power. Our Government has acknowledged and confirmed it's commitment to allowing Nuclear Power. This will allow for the construction of 20 Nuclear Power Plants across the UK by 2023.
The construction and management of the latest third generation of Reactors will be decided in the coming months as the World Nuclear Engineering Groups and consortium's bid to win the contracts.
The new generation of Fast Breeder Reactors (Third Generation) for Nuclear Power stations will take upto 10 years to construct. Nuclear Power Stations are complex structures and require the skills and capabilities of specialist and multi-disciplined engineers. We are already providing these skilled engineers and managers to maintain and decommission the existing power stations. We look forward to assisting in the supply of personnel to construct and maintain our future Nuclear Power Stations.
These major developments in Nuclear Energy generation provides exciting and highly rewarding career opportunities for Graduates and suitably qualified engineers. Attracting graduates and professional engineers from other sectors is still a challenge. However with the national shift in attitude towards Nuclear Energy we are starting to see the sector in a new light. Statistics show that Nuclear is a reliable, financially viable and proven safe form of powering our homes and businesses.

Graduate Opportunities
With the recognised volume of personnel required to construct and maintain Nuclear Power Stations, things will have to change in how we attract students to this sector. If we are to meet the demands for engineers to satisfy the nations new build programme, it is inevitable that schools, colleges and universities will be required to adjust the National curriculum to endorse and promote Nuclear Engineering to appeal to a far wider selection of students.
Methods of Engagement
Our specialists recruiters are able to provide both contract and permanent staffing advice. Understanding our clients requirements, the time constraints and complexity of Security Clearance procedures often results in our recruiters advising clients on the availability of the required skills in the market place.
Permanent Positions
We will take the time to understand you and your personal circumstances, creating a full profile of your skills and capabilities linked with your preferences for locations and type of organisation that most suits you.
We can provide Psychometric testing which is becoming an increasingly requested service with up to 75% of medium to large sized organisations using as part of the recruitment process.
Typically tests are used to select for graduate-level positions, with verbal and numerical ability being the most frequently assessed. Personality ‘tests’ (questionnaires) are generally used at the interview, or assessment centre stage, after candidates have been sifted on the basis of their test results.
Contractor assignments
In order to deliver the best outcome for Contractor and Client, we require the same high levels of personal understanding in respect of our contracting candidates. It is even more vital that we understand the motivations linked to contractors family considerations, travel restrictions, financial compensations and flexibility over locations.
Only with continual monitoring and updating of our contractors, can we recognise and therefore confidently recommend reliable Contractors to Clients. An in depth knowledge and understanding of contractor's motivations and professional competencies, supported by references and confirmed abilities from their Line Management, allows us to confidently and continually place high caliber individuals into the Nuclear Power Stations around the UK, to mutual benefit.
