We are looking for candidate who will provide support to Optioneering schemes and as such should be able to deliver a high standard of project documentation, e.g. PDD, HSE Plan etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in project management techniques and application, managing high value and complex projects with a proven track record of successful project completion to quality, schedule and cost requirements
  • High level of awareness of the regulatory framework and safety legislation/implementation including CDM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PC literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Work and Excel.  Experience in project planning, critical path scheduling and costs systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and high self-motivated
  • Skilled in developing good client relationships and business development aspects
  • Degree Qualified

 Support the Site Lead Project Manager on safety, finance, quality, audit and document maintenance matters

  • Ensure preparation and agreement of project programmes
  • Prepare capital works sanction approval submission documents in accordance with the Client's processes
  • Organise and manage the project team assigned to successfully complete the project, and ensure all team members are fuly conversant with the project objectives and their roles and allocated responsbilities
  • Define the totalityof the specification for the work as identified in a Project Definition Document
  • Prepare and issue the Project Co-ordination Procedure
  • Ensure all phases of the project meet cost, schedule and quality requirements
  • Control and administer the flow of data and information within the Company and between the Company and the Client and other stakeholders, including regulators, supply chain partners and local and statutory authorities
  • Organise Project Review Meetings at appropriate regulator intervals to review actual progress, identify problem areas and agree remedial actions, including management of risks
  • Ensure operating experience feedback is taken into account
  • Hold project critiques and desseminate lessons learned
  • Ensure that expenditure of manhours and costs are properly monitored, controlled, accrued and reported to Company management and to the Client as appropriate
  • Identify adverse trends which may influence the scope, schedule and/or cost forecasts and take necessary action to minimise impacts
  • Exercise contract and project change control, ensuring Client approval (when applicable) before additional expenditure of time and/or costs.  Authorise internal changes when necessary for achievement of contract objectives
  • Report to management monthly on performance
  • Ensure compliane with the Project Quality Assurance Plan
  • Ensure all regulatory, statutory and Company requirements are met with regard to the application of health, safety and environmental standards and procedures
  • Ensure that all Company contractual and legal obligations are met, to the satisfaction of the Client

The overall control of a Nuclear Power Stations Portfolio of projects, require  simutaneously management across all disciplines (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical)

Programme management of teams of project managers often with very complex, high value, multi disciplined teams. Management of mutiple sub contracting organisations or consortiums operating from multiple locations. 

These managerial skills are often called upon within a Nuclear Power Station due to the complex nature and skills required for constructing, maintaining and the eventual decommissioning of Nuclear Reactors. 

We are often called upon by site directors to facilitate the search for such high level managerial skills. These positions are very heavily relient on our internal networking, recomendations, referrals and knowledge of the management infrastructures of the stations. Occassionally we are able to introduce other high level managers from related sectors that can move across at this level.

The Time scales involveded with these types of positions inevitably spans 6 months to a year in advance of an assignment being taken up.The right personnel at the right time are always key to successful management.. 

These Large scale, high value, complex, multi disciplined projects. require experience in managing sub contractor workforces. Managment of  multiple projects with individual values of circa £50-£75 million with an overall portfolio values reaching £500,000,000 .
